Message Center Mounted Brake Light. So it hasn't been with us that long. I always thought it was just another Nanny-State device that served no real purpose. I don't remember there a big problem before it was introduced. But I was pretty sure it would be one more thing to break and prevent my car from starting.

Today, whenever I get in a clutch car to start it, about half the time I forget to depress the pedal... But I very rarely forget to slap the shifter left and right in neutral. On the other hand, I guess if you grow up expecting it to be there, then for safety's sake, it should probably stay there.
